Parents of baby Sumayyah Oyinkansola have said thank you to Nigerians who came through during the fundraising of their baby’s surgery.
Gatekeepers News earlier reported that the parents of baby Sumayyah cried out to the general public to help save the life of their daughter who was scheduled to undergo liver surgery in India.
At one month, baby Sumayyah was diagnosed with Type 3 Jaundice and had to undergo surgery when she was three-month-old in order not to affect her liver.
A week after the surgery, Summayah’s belly started protruding, and a series of tests and abdominal scans were conducted on her.
A test result that came out showed that Sumayyah’s liver has to be replaced and she has to be flown out of the country for the surgery, which will cost 20 million naira.
Our reporter who has been following up on the story found out that Nigerians came through financially and the surgery was successful.
Her mother, Sherifat Akande who shared the good news with Gatekeepers News said “Sumayah is very fine now”.
She accompanied the text with pictures and a video of the success story.
