Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting has approved power transmission lines project in Edo State, Southern Nigeria.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba disclosed this via his official Twitter handle on Wednesday.
According to him, the approval was granted for the reconductoring of 90km Benin-Irrua & 72km Irrua-Okpella 132KV Single Circuit Transmission Lines with Turn-In-Turn-Out Tower at Irrua and Okpella 132 KV substations respectively.
Agba wrote, “The council also approved the reconductoring of 48km Okpella-Okene and 58km Okene-Ajaokuta 132KV Single Circuit Transmission Lines, with a delivery period of 12 months.
“I had the opportunity of explaining to the FEC how the projects would help to increase the capacity of power and efficiency of the transmission lines and improve the quality of lives of residents in the state.”
The Minister thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for approving these projects in Edo State and also the Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, for his interest in helping to solve the Edo light (power) issue.
