Despite arriving late at some polling units, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has reiterated that no voter who gets to polling unit before 2:30pm will be disenfranchised.

Gatekeepers News reports that the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu disclosed this during a media press at the situation room on Saturday.

Yakubu stressed that the BVAS has been automatically programmed to work between 8:30am to 2:30pm, therefore even if it start working later than 8:30am, voters who are on the queue before 2:30pm will be allowed to still vote no matter how long it will take.

He further revealed that thugs attacked two different polling units in two states in the country, stealing at least eight BVAS machines.

Yakubu, however, noted that voting continued in the two polling areas as backup BVAS machines were provided.

The INEC promised that there will be intermittent briefing to provide Nigerians further update.

This is a developing story.
