President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated the 50 megawatts (MW) Maiduguri emergency power project.
Gatekeepers News reports that the 50 megawatt, gas-fired project inaugurated on Thursday in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno, is aimed at restoring electricity supply to Maiduguri & environs, following attacks on power installations in the State.
The project, which is part of the Federal Government’s efforts at deepening gas utilisation in Nigeria’s domestic markets in line with the declaration of the “Decade of Gas” (2021-2030), is also expected to improve economic activities of Maiduguri and the entire Borno State.
