2023 Elections: Oshiomhole Appreciates People Of Edo North

Senator-Elect, Edo North, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the entire people of the Senatorial District, both at home and in the diaspora, for their support which culminated in his victory in the recently concluded Senate election contest.

Gatekeepers News reports that Oshiomhole said he does not take for granted the trust the people have reposed in him by voting for the All Progressives Congress, APC, across the board in the Presidential and National Assembly Election.

In a statement he personally signed, Edo North Senator-elect said, “All over Afemai land, you trooped out in unprecedented numbers to vote for me and my party, the All Progressives Congress. Your votes represent a loud statement that Edo North deserves better, and I promise you that I will give you good representation at the red chambers of the National Assembly like you have never witnessed before.

“During my campaigns, I had the opportunity to see firsthand the decay that exists in many of our public institutions in Edo North. Apart from not improving on the solid foundations which I deliberately laid across the state over a decade ago as governor, even the infrastructure strategically built for the rapid development of our rural communities during my administration have not been maintained by the present government. They have mischievously been left to suffer decay in the past 7 years since I left office.”

Oshiomhole said, “I want to, therefore, use this opportunity to remind you all that the job is not complete yet. While I appreciate the massive support all APC candidates received in the February 25th election which resulted in 100% victory for all our candidates in Edo North, I sincerely appeal to you to come out, even in larger numbers, and with more determination, to vote for all APC House of Assembly candidates in the rescheduled Saturday, March 18, 2023 election. That is the only way we can guarantee that all the dividends arising from the government of President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu will reach all our grassroot communities in Edo State in general and Edo North in particular.”

He, therefore urged the people “not to be dissuaded by rumours being peddled by enemies of democracy, that there will be violence in Edo State during the March 18th House of Assembly election.

“The intention is to scare our people away from the polling booths so that the choice of the majority will be truncated. I want to assure you that our security agencies are up to the task of ensuring the safety of all those who come out to vote. Your votes will not be tampered with. They will be counted, and they will count in the final analysis of who will represent you at the Edo State House of Assembly.”

The statement read further, “Finally, I use this opportunity to also call on those who did not vote for APC in the last election to come on board. We are all working for the unity and progress of Edo North. Though you lost out in the Presidential and National Assembly election, you still have a chance to join us to elect a vibrant, independent, and responsive parliament, that will appropriately and courageously represent our collective interests at the Edo State House of Assembly. Do not be left out of this all-important task.

“Vote APC
“Vote Progress

“Thank You, My Akoko-Edo People!

“Thank You, My Etsako People!!

“Thank You My Owan People!!!”
