Ramadan will commence on Thursday, March 23rd, Mohammed Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto and President of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), has announced.
Gatekeepers News reports that the announcement was made after crescent for the commencement of the Ramadan fasting was sighted.
In a video announcement on Wednesday night, the sultan said Muslims in the country should commence fasting as tomorrow (Thursday) marks the first day of 2023 Ramadan.
