Morgan Freeman is an American actor, director, and narrator.

Early Life
Freeman was born in Memphis, Tennessee in June 1, 1937 to Mamie Edna (née Revere; 1912–2000), a teacher, and Morgan Porterfield Freeman (July 6, 1915 – April 27, 1961), a barber. According to DNA analysis, some of his ancestors were from the Songhai and Tuareg people of Niger.
He was raised in Mississippi where he began acting in school plays at age 9. Freeman studied theater arts in Los Angeles and appeared in stage productions in his early career.
Early Career
Freeman worked as a dancer at the 1964 World’s Fair and was a member of the Opera Ring musical theater group in San Francisco. He acted in a touring company version of The Royal Hunt of the Sun, and also appeared as an extra in Sidney Lumet’s 1965 drama film The Pawnbroker starring Rod Steiger.
He, however, realised that acting was where his heart lay. Freeman had said, “After [The Royal Hunt of the Sun], my acting career just took off.” he made his Off-Broadway debut in 1967.
In 1971, Freeman starred in the PBS children’s television show The Electric Company, which gave him financial stability and recognition among American audiences.
He is known for his distinctive deep voice and various roles in a wide variety of film genres.
Freeman was well recognised for his role in Brian Banks, Angel Has Fallen, the third installment in the Has Fallen film series, following Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen; The Comeback Trail (2020) and in Coming 2 America (2021), a sequel to the 1988 film.
He is the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honor in 2008, the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2011, the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2012, and the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2018.
Personal Life
Freeman married to Jeanette Adair Bradshaw from October 22, 1967, until November 18, 1979, and later married Myrna Colley-Lee on June 16, 1984. He and Colley-Lee separated in December 2007 and finally divorced on September 15, 2010. Freeman has four children: Alfonso, Deena, Morgana, and Saifoulaye.
He earned a private pilot’s license at age 65 and owns or has owned at least three private aircraft, including both a Cessna Citation 501 and Cessna 414, and an Emivest SJ30.
