Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, has invited Festus Keyamo as it is set to commence an investigation of Atiku Abubakar over the diversion of public funds allegation while he was Vice-President of Nigeria through ‘Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV)’.
Gatekeeper News reports that Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment and a spokesman for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), is expected to come forward to adopt his petition and to help it to secure the presence of the whistleblower, Michael Achimugu to assist in the investigation.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Asst. Head of Chambers, Festus Keyamo Chambers, John Ainetor on Thursday.
The statement read, “Keyamo assures that the crusade for accountability in respect of this issue was not a campaign gimmick as he promises to follow it through to a logical conclusion, even after the victory of the President-Elect, ASIWAJU Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Keyamo had petitioned the CCB to probe Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate in the just concluded 2023 general elections, following the revelation by Atiku’s former lawyer, Achimugu, alleging financial misconduct during the former’s reign as Vice President.
