Professional mixed martial artist, Israel Adesanya, has defeated Alex Pereira to reclaim his UFC middleweight belt title in the Ultimate Fighting Championship 287.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Nigerian-born New Zealander knocked out the Brazilian in the fourth minute of the second round of the bout at the FTX Arena, Miami, Florida, on Sunday morning, April 9.
Adesanya entered UFC 287 after suffering three defeats in his first three meetings with Pereira.
Pereira beat Adesanya via fifth-round TKO to win the title at UFC 281 last November at Madison Square Garden.
Pereira has also beaten Adesanya twice in kickboxing, the most recent time by knockout in 2017. He’s the only man to ever knock Adesanya out.
