INEC Chairman Under Pressure To Compromise Adamawa’s Result – CSO Raises Alarm

A CSO, Save Nigeria Movement, has alleged that the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, is working in cahoots with some characters In Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria, to subvert the will of the people.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Executive Director Of Save Nigeria Movement, Richard Oduma disclosed this in a statement.

The group alleged that the conspiracy is being prosecuted by One Professor Kuna, who’s a Special Advisor to Yakubu.

The group noted that Yakubu was prodded for the role by the Incumbent Vice-Chancellor of Modibbo Adamawa University, Kuna, who’s also the Collation Officer.

The group also noted that the authentic adhoc staff trained and approved by the INEC Chairman had been altogether scrapped.

The statement read, “The Save Nigeria Movement (SNM) has raised the alarm over the desperation of Gov Fintiri to infiltrate the top hierarchy of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with a bid to favor Incumbent governor Fintiri in the re-run.

“Intelligence at our disposal indicates that one Prof Kuna, who’s a special advisor to INEC Chairman Prof Mahmoud, has made himself available for the hatchet job through the prodding of the current Vice Chancellor Moddibbo Adama University, who has the ambition to take over from Gov Fintiri in 2027.

“This demonic and undemocratic act has to be truncated by well-meaning patriots, and it is an opportunity to call on the INEC chairman to save his name.

“Prof Kuna can not be used to shortchange the will of the people of Adamawa State, which they have demonstrated in the March 18 election in which they voted for their candidate in Hajia Aisha Binani. “No amount of pressure should be enough to subdue the will of the good people of Adamawa State.”

‘This a call for anarchy and must be resisted.”

Recall several organizations have raised the alarm over sinister efforts by Gov Fintiri to truncate the re-run. Indeed he has found a way around the INEC chairman. “This is quite unfortunate.

The group called on all stakeholders and Mr. President Buhari to keep an eye on the commission as bias is already established in favor of Gov Fintiri, who has monetized and militarized the whole process.”

Executive director Richard Oduma said the re-run was a smokescreen as the rigging had already been perfected through Prof Kuna and his cohorts in favor of Gov Fintiri.’
