Dorothy Ihedioha, the mother of Emeka Ihedioha, former governor of Imo state, Southeast Nigeria is dead.
Gatekeepers News reports that the former governor announced that his mother died in Abuja on Thursday with her family by her side.
Madam Dororthy had earlier celebrated her 90th birthday in August 2022.
Ihedioha wrote, “After a fruitful ad eventful life of God’s abundant mercies and grace, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha (Nee Okereke) gloriously trasited to eternity on Thursday 20th April, 2023 in Abuja, with her family by her side.
“While we thank God, friends and well-wishers who identified with us, particularly during our mother’s last days, we enjoin you to remember the family in your prayers.”
On March 28, Ihedioha, who withdrew from the contest to elect the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, cited the need to ensure unity in the state chapter of the PDP as the reason for his withdrawal.
