2023 Joy Heyball Masters Qualifier: Abdulbakir Takes Early Lead On Day One

After day one matches Raji Abdulbakir alias Feras is leading group A in the Joy Heyball Masters Div One Tour Nigeria Qualifiers which commenced on Tuesday
at the Nicon Town Recreation Center.

Gatekeepers News reports that Leading with 2 points, Abuja-based Raji Abdulbakir takes an advantage into day two to ward off any push that will come from the other three opponents in his group.

Despite coming late for the first game made the SPPA technical Committee initially issue a Workover against him to his opponent Nosa Lawani’ advantage, the decision was later rescinded after Abdulbakir’s appeal was presented and reviewed by the technical committee because of the merit of his explanation.

In the first match, Raji Abdulbakir beat Nosa 5 – 3 In a race 5 keenly contested game match which ended after 8 games.

Abdulbakir exhibited his proficiency and Skill despite the spirited challenge by Nosa Lawani.

In the second match of the day, Charles Chijide was no match for Shehu Bamidele in a game that ended 5 -1 with Shehu achieving 7 ball crushing defeat in his fifth game.

The match ended after 6 games. The match of the day was between Raji Abubakir and Charles Chijide which ended (5 – 2) that ended after 7 games in the race to 5 Rack event.

Despite the high level of skill exhibited by the players, they have trouble in achieving Break and Run which is a requirement if any of them finally wins the Nigeria Qualifier and are faced with the task of facing other participants coming from different countries to participate in the 2023 Joy Heyball Master Div One Tour #2 holding in Lanzhou City, China from June 23 – July 3, 2023.

Matches in Group B will commence from Thursday, 8th June 2023 as the winner of group A and B will finally face off in the Finals held on Saturday.
