Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu has debunked reports that he was appointed as a substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Gatekeepers News earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu suspended the former chairman of the anti-corruption agency, Abdulrasheed Bawa misconduct while in office.
On Tuesday, reports of Odumosu’s appointment as the substantive EFCC boss emerged, adding that the appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate.
However, Odumosu, while reacting to this in a statement he signed on Wednesday said, “Good Morning everyone, I have been inundated with so many calls and messages between yesterday and today on a purported “EFCC Appointment”., I just want to use this opportunity to debunk this information and say it’s totally untrue.
“This information must have emanated from Mischief Makers and should be totally disregarded.”
