US Coast Guard said the crew of Titan sub have died after a ‘catastrophic’ event.
Gatekeepers News reports that the First Coast Guard District commander, Rear Adm John Mauger confirmed that they died from a catastrophic implosion of the sub.
Mauger said a remotely operated vehicle from Horizon Arctic discovered the tail cone of the Titan sub approximately 1,600 feet from the bow of the Titanic on the seafloor.
According to him, the debris is “consistent with a catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber.”
He added, “Upon this determination, we immediately notified the families on behalf of the United States Coast Guard and the entire unified command. I offer my deepest condolences to the families.”
