Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has berated the immediate past Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba, for not extending the benefits of his ministerial appointment to the Benin people.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Monarch expressed disappointment while responding to the Minister who was on a thank-you-visit to the palace for its role in his appointment as a minister by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said: “It is true that my intervention to former President Buhari made you benefit from the office you held. We thank God for that.
“As a minister, I was wondering if any of our people also benefited from your office. I am saying that so that anyone who benefited can thank you,” the Oba said.
In his defence, Agba claimed he is ‘not a man who loves to blow his trumpet’, told reporters that he was able to get the approval of some projects for Edo in the 2023 budget before he left office which includes the Benin-Warri Sapele road as well as the Auchi-Okene road.
