Elections just like examinations are not true tests of knowledge but they sure x-ray the indeliblity of inherence. They essentially depict the patriotic nature of the participants and expose their true stand in all weathers- sinking or soaring.

In the history of APC, Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency had not witnessed the magnitude of campaigns as excellently done by Nwachinemelu, the APC House of Representatives’ Candidate in the 2023 general elections as the impact of the Campaigns rocked the mega city of Onitsha leaving the camps of the oppositions shaking and the Constituents in awe.

No gainsaying that in the last general elections, many Jagabanists were bruised mentally, physically and materially in the South East of Nigeria – Nwachinemelu and campaign team were. Their crime? Identifying with he who most ‘seers’ had ‘visions’ of never standing a chance of becoming the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Who mere having the symbol of the party he vied from tainted them as leprous. But whom today ‘Jagaban!, Jagaban! , Jagaban! chant from their lips! What a catastrophic commotion!

Going memory lane…on a particular beautiful Sunday afternoon at the peak of the campaign period, many were startled hearing the inferno of the building housing the only visible All Progressives Congress’ Campaign office in Anambra North; the Campaign office of the 2023 APC Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency’s Candidate, Hon. Bright Osemeka (Nwachinemelu)… and the building went up in flames. Was it an attack from the Opposition? Sure, it was! The interlopers simply wanted to finish up what they started in the law court. Was it because the Campaign office had a gigantic billboard with an imposing picture of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TINUBU, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria gracing it, standing gloriously and adding to the ambience of the Campaign office? The answer should be figured out considering the Jagaban’s acceptance in this part of the country…

… And the campaign billboards splendidly standing all over the streets in Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency -with ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU’s picture on them- making ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS Party’s participation in the said election visible- were maliciously destroyed barely few days to the election…
Did this calamitous act deter or slow down the pace of the Campaigns? NO! Hon. Bright Osemeka (Nwachinemelu), the 2023 APC House of Representatives Onitsha North and South Candidate with his indefatigable Campaign team courageously and undauntedly braced the Campaigns traversing the lengths, breadths and the hinterlands of Onitsha North and South Constituency determined on showcasing the All Progressives Congress as a beautiful bride to our people in spite of all odds…

And I ask, who really deserve the accolades in the last election? One of the Igbo adages says, ” agụọ ma a gụnyerọ, malụ na Onye ilo gụlụ” ( translation – when one is not counted in a headcount, it simply means an enemy did the counting).

I make bold to say that in the midst of the hullabaloo, let it be remembered that one man solidly and publicly stood with the Jagaban and the All Progressives Congress despite the nightmarish mortifications experienced during the 2023 electioneering period. That icon is Hon. Bright Osemeka, he stands stoically with the Jagaban Borgu, visibly, materially, in and out of season.
