Motorists have alleged that the Ifo local government task force is extorting N40,000 from those using the good side of the road at Agbole junction leading to the bridge in Ogun State, South-West Nigeria.
Gatekeepers News reports that the so-called “officials” claimed the motorists are driving one-way or against the traffic contravening the law.
A victim of this injustice who spoke to Gatekeepers News alleged that the men who apprehended him were about 20 in number and were not in uniforms.
He narrated how they apprehended several cars forcing them to pay a fine of 40 thousand Naira before their number plates which they forcefully removed were given back to them upon payment.
The State’s Commissioner for Works, Ade Akinsanya when contacted on this illegality confirmed that the action of the tax force is illegal.
Akinsanya noted that the good portion of the road is meant to be used by all motorists pending when the other bad section was completed according to plans.
He further escalated the matter to the Chairman of Ifo Local Government in Ogun State, Kikelomo Delano, who noted that she was not aware of such an operation but promised to look into it.

Meanwhile, below is the face attached to the Whatsapp number on the form:
Motorists are, therefore, urging Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to investigate these acts of criminality accordingly.
