Immediate past Speaker of Edo State House Of Assembly, Marcus Onobun has been involved in a horrible accident on his way to Abuja.
Gatekeepers News reports that the lawmaker, who is said to be in critical condition following the ghastly auto crash on Wednesday, has since been hospitalised.
Onobun now represents Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
He was said to have sustained multiple fractures when a vehicle he was travelling in fell into ditch and somersaulted multiple times along Ekpoma-Abuja Highway.
Onobun was travelling from Benin,to Abuja, after missing his flight when the accident happened.
The wreckage of the lawmaker’s vehicle, a dark-brown Mitsubishi SUV, showed a detached airbag system, a shattered windshield and a disfigured roof.
A member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Onobun was the Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly from 2020 until he was elected to the federal House in February 2023, general elections.
