El Classico Friendly: Barcelona Thrash Real Madrid 3-0

Spanish side, FC Barcelona put up a brilliant display at the AT&T stadium as they beat domestic rival, Real Madrid by a 3-0 scoreline.

Gatekeepers News reports that the two Spanish heavyweights locked horns in the pre-season friendly match which witnessed strategic game plans from managers of both teams.

Barcelona, who secured the La Liga title last season with a 10-point gap ahead of their rivals, got the lead in the 15th minute, courtesy of Ousmane Dembele after an assist from Pedri.

Real Madrid lost a penalty chance after Vinicius Jr strick the ball against the crossbar, sending Barcelona’s Ter Stergen the wrong way.

The match tempo kept building, as highlighted in the 33rd minute mark when Brazilian, Rodrygo played a superb free kick that left Ter Stergen to tip the ball off the top right corner of thr post.

The White Angels were able to keep possession of the ball in a much-contested El Clasico match, at 53 per cent against Barcelona’s 47 per cent.

Madrid featured French players, Camavinga and Tchouamen, and Valverde.

English midfielder, Bellingham played behind Brazilian attackers, Vinicius and Rodrygo.

The match marks the first to be played after Madrid sold former captain and Ballon d’Or winner, Karim Benzena to Al Ittihad.

Madrid lost chances at goal with the front three all contributing the lost five chances after hitting their attempts against the woodwork.

Barcelona was able to contain the midfield with the trio of Oriol, de Jong and ex-Man City midfielder, Ikay Gundogan.

In the 85th minute, German international, Toni Kroos was out under pressure abd made Sergi Roberto do away with a pass to Lopez who struck the ball past Courtois to make the score 2-0.

The catalan giants sealed the win in the extra time after Ferran Torres received a clip pass from Lopez.

Torres wasted no time as he tipped the ball over Courtois.

Barcelona looks to take the same form to their remaining pre-season friendly matches against Milan and Tottenham, before their first La Liga match on August 13 against Getafe, as the Blaugrana seek to defend last season’s league win.
