JUST IN: Tinubu Replaces Ministerial Nominee – Includes Festus Keyamo

President Bola Tinubu has replaced a ministerial nominee, Dr. Maryam Shetty with Dr. Mariya Mahmud and added Festus Keyamo as a nominee.

Gatekeepers News reports that this was revealed when Senate President Godswill Akpabio read out a letter by the President at Friday’s plenary session.

On Wednesday, Tinubu forwarded the name of Shetty, with 18 others to the Senate as ministerial nominees.

In the letter to the Senate, President Bola Tinubu withdrew nomination of Maryam Shetty from the list of ministerial nominees.

No reason was for her withdrawal from the list was stated.

Also, Tinubu forwarded the name of Festus Keyamo, spokesperson of the APC Campaign Council to the upper chamber as ministerial nominee, making the total nominees to be 48.

Last week Thursday, The president forwarded the first list of 28 ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation.

He later sent another list of 19 ministerial nominees for screening on Wednesday.

Some former governors who made the list are: Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa) and Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe).
