Fire Guts Comedian AY’s Residence 

Popular Nigerian comedian, Ayodeji Makun, widely known as AY, has reacted to the fire incident that engulfed his Lagos home on Sunday.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a viral video, recorded by a social media user @Postsubman, AY’s house was gutted by fire on Sunday. The roof of the storey-building was on fire.

In reaction, many colleagues and fans of AY, including his younger brother and fashion designer, Yomi Casual sympathised with the comedian and his family.

Expressing gratitude to God for the safety of his family, AY took to his Instagram page to share videos and pictures of his wife and children presently on vacation abroad.

He wrote: “Family and God. That is what’s important. Everything else comes and goes. Can’t wait to join you guys in the US in a few days.”

Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, through the Director, Adeseye Margaret stated that no injuries or deaths were recorded.

Mrs. Adeseye said “distress call was received at 17:34 hours and was attended to by the Oba Oniru Fire Station of the agency ,who on arrival discovered the Fire from a room used as a store on the upper floor of a residential building on 1, Ayo Makun Street, Richmond Gate Estate, Ikate, Lekki, Lagos.

“The Fire which was met well alight with smoke billowing the sky before it was confined and put out from causing further damage to the property and adjoining structures in the estate.” she stated.

The cause of the fire is unknown
