Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum, on Thursday, swore-in 17 new Commissioners, charging them to bring their wealth of expertise to bare in moving the state forward.
Gatekeepers News reports that Zulum also presided over the the Swearing-In of three Chief Special Advisers and a permanent Secretary at an occasion held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Government House, Maiduguri.
The Governor seized the opportunity to charge the new appointees; particularly the the new commissioners to dedicate themselves to their duties and always make themselves available at the various offices.
Prof Zulum stated that his administration will not tolerate any form of absenteeism from the Commissioners and threatened to take punitive measures.
According to him, “while congratulating you all over your appointments, once again I must remind you that in conformity with the oath of allegiance and oath of office which you have just taken , you must always remain resolute and absolutely committed to your work and loyal to the government of the day.
“You must go to your offices as at when due, henceforth, this administration will not accept to allow any Commissioner go unpunished if anyone should refuse to go to his or her office,” Zulum warned.
The Governor directed the new Commissioners to channel all correspondences to his office through the office of the Secretary to the State Government.
He therefore assured that his second term mandate will bring about more development projects to the nooks and crannies of the state.
