Arsenal have defeated Nottingham Forest (2-1) to claim all three points at the opening fixture of the 2023-24 Premier League season.

Although Forest would have been happy to have made it to the break without conceding again, there was little to be excited about in the second half as the visitors were forced to try and be a little more adventurous after the break, but Arsenal were unable to capitalise.

Although the Gunners have two more chances to regain two-goal advantage, with Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka both looking to break in behind the defence, they failed to keep total control. Nevertheless, Gunners eventually held on to the win 2-1.
