Popular Lagos State socialite, Farida Abdulkabir popularly known as Farida Sobowale, has explained why she wanted to plunge into a lagoon on the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos.
Gatekeepers News reports that Farida who is also the owner of House of Phreedah cited frustrations, failed marriage and many others as what propelled her action on Thursday night.
In a viral video, Farida was observed being calmed down to refrain from jumping. Rescuers reassured her that ending her life was unnecessary. She was then swiftly led into a vehicle and driven to an undisclosed location.

The aftermath of her collapsed marriage pushed Farida to the brink of despair, leading her to contemplate ending her life. Reportedly, she disembarked from her black SUV on the Third Mainland Bridge with the intention of jumping into the lagoon.
Having tied the knot with Demola Okulaja just around two months prior in an extravagant ceremony, Farida’s current state has taken a toll on her mental health.
Farida mentioned that her struggles with numerous suicidal attempts have intensified following Okulaja’s departure from their marital home.
She said, “Friends and families warned me not to go into the marriage. They told me that the man only wanted my money but I was recalcitrant.
“It was love that pushed me into this. He told me that he was going to be with me, make me bore children for him.
“I am so sorry for putting my children in such a position. I would not have forgiven myself if I had abandoned them after committing suicide.
“I have forgiven my ex-husband. May God provide him with another wife,” she added.
Meanwhile, Farida and her estranged husband became entangled in disputes, airing startling family revelations on social media. They openly clashed, launching verbal attacks against each other and resorting to using derogatory language.
