Kaduna Trains 7000 Recruits To Strengthen State’s Vigilance Service

Kaduna state government, Northwest Nigeria has commenced the training of 7,000 recruits to strengthen the state’s vigilance service (KADVS).

Gatekeepers News reports that the Governor of Kaduna, Uba Sani declared the training opened in Kaduna.

He said the motive behind the recruitment is to assist security agencies with actionable intelligence in tackling the insecurity challenges facing the state.

According to the Governor, the recruits, drawn from the 23 LGAs of the state, were selected through a rigorous screening process.

“The Kaduna Vigilance Service is a complementary security outfit. It will assist the security agencies with actionable intelligence,” he said.

“With its knowledge of the local environment, bandits will have no hiding place.”

Sani said his administration is committed to strengthening the manpower and overall operational capacity of KADVS to complement the efforts of security agencies to secure the state.

“Since its establishment, KADVS has been working with security agencies to degrade criminal elements,” he said.

“But we face the challenge of inadequate personnel to successfully wage the battle against bandits and other criminal elements.

“It is for this reason that our administration decided to recruit 7,000 personnel into the Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVS).”

The governor warned the recruits against violating the rights of citizens, stressing that KADVS was set up to protect the people and not violate their rights.
