632 People Killed In Morocco's Powerful Earthquake
At least 632 people have been killed and 329 were injured in the earthquake that struck Morocco.

Gatekeepers News reports that the head of the National Institute of Geophysics in Morocco has said that Friday’s earthquake is the strongest in a century in the country.

He added that the core of the earthquake was the al-Haouz region in southwest Morocco.

According to reports, most of the fatalities of the 6.8 magnitude earthquake, the strongest recorded in the country in more than 120 years, are said to be in hard-to-reach areas south of Marrakesh.

Id Waaziz Hassan, told the Reuters news agency that some houses in the old city in Marrakesh collapsed and people are working by hand to remove debris while waiting for heavy moving equipment to arrive, a local resident.

Connectivity to the internet was disrupted in Marrakesh due to power cuts in the region after the devastating temblor, according to global internet monitor NetBlocks.

Meanwhile, Israeli Government announced that the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and defence are preparing a large team to be sent to Morocco.

They will provide assistance in rescue and first aid operations for earthquake victims in Morocco.

The Foreign Ministry also said that it is in contact with the authorities in Rabat and no Israeli casualties were recorded among the tourists in Morocco.
