Manchester United Confirm Antony Won’t Return Amid Assault Allegations

Manchester United have announced the decision not to bring Antony back to the club following the international break, as he faces allegations of assault.

Gatekeepers News reports that Gabriela Cavallin, Antony’s ex-girlfriend, has claimed that the footballer assaulted her on four separate occasions.

In addition, two more women in Brazil, Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana, have accused the 23-year-old of physical abuse.

Antony was dropped from the Brazilian national team for their World Cup qualifier against Bolivia, and Manchester United has opted to take a similar stance.

“Man Utd acknowledges the allegations made against Antony. He will delay his return until further notice in order to address the allegations.

“As a club we condemn acts of violence and abuse”.

In his own statement, Antony said: “I have agreed with United to take a period of absence while I address the allegations made against me.

“This was a mutual decision.

“I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, I will fully cooperate with the police”.
