Executive Director of Dangote Group, Devakumar Edwin, says its refinery would receive its first crude oil cargo in two weeks, heralding its operation.
Gatekeepers News reports that Edwin disclosed this in a recent interview with S&P Global Commodity Insights.
The development comes following an indication that the company would commence operation in October.
The group executive stated in the interview that the Dangote Refinery plans to increase petrol production, aiming to reach an impressive 650,000 barrels per day by November 30.
He said: “Right now, I’m ready to receive crude. We are just waiting for the first vessel. And so, we can start as soon as it comes in.”
During the inauguration of the refinery in May, Aliko Dangote had said it would commence operation in July.
