Governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Umuahia, the Abia State capital has struck out the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) election petition against the governor of the state, Alex Otti of the Labour Party (LP).
Gatekeepers News reports that a three man panel led by Justice H.T.D Gwadah in a three hours judgement said that the petitioner “failed in their three grounds and their petitions dismissed for lack of merit.”
The three grounds dismissed were; Alex Otti’s qualification to participate in the 2023 governorship election, Electoral Malpractice and Otti’s inability to score the required number of votes to qualify him to be declared the winner of the 2023 polls, for which PDP approached the tribunal.
As at the time of filing the report, the tribunal which went on a short recess is back to hear the case between the governorship candidate of the APC and the Labour Party.
This is a developing story.
