Kano State government has conducted mass wedding for 1,800 couples in the State.
Gatekeepers News reports that Governor Abba Yusuf of the State and other government officials witnessed the ceremony conducted on Saturday.
Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was also present at the event.
The wedding ceremony was sponsored and officiated by the state government as N50,000 in dowry was paid on behalf of each groom to their brides.
Some of the wedded couples were widows and divorcees.
The state government gave the wedded couples beds, bedding, food, and clothes.
