Israel Reopens Water Supply In Southern Gaza

Israel has reopened the water supply in southern Gaza after intervention from U.S. President Biden.

Gatekeepers News reports that this decision followed earlier statements by Israel’s Energy Minister, Israel Katz, who had declared that no water supply would resume until certain conditions were met.

However, according to Mail Online on Sunday, Minister Katz confirmed that President Biden’s talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had played a role in the decision to reopen the water supply.

President Biden during a speech on Friday in Philadelphia, emphasised the importance of protecting Palestinians and expressed his concern for ‘innocent lives lost, including at least 27 Americans’ affected by the recent violence. He noted the suffering of Palestinians and stressed the need for the “rule of law.”

It was just the latest time he tried to inject a note of caution into otherwise full-throated support of Israel. He has repeatedly stressed this week that both the U.S. and Israel understand the importance of the ‘rule of law.’

This move is seen as part of the ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the conflict in the region, with the U.S. administration advocating for the protection of civilians and adherence to international law.

Israel, on the other hand, has positioned its armed forces at the Gaza border, ready to respond to the ongoing conflict with Hamas. The situation remains volatile, with Israel preparing for potential military action in the region.
