Gatekeepers News reports that this announcement was made through an official communication from the FCTA via their official X handle (formerly Twitter) on Monday.
FCTA wrote: “His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, has approved the appointment of Mrs. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi as the Mandate Secretary for the newly created Women Affairs Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).”
In the statement signed by the director of Press to the FCT minister, Anthony Ogunleye, he said Mrs Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi’s appointment is a significant step in the FCTA’s commitment to promote the well-being and empowerment of women and children in the FCT.
She was chosen for her exemplary qualifications and dedication to public service. Born in 1965 and hailing from Ogun State, she brings her expertise and experience to this pivotal role.
The creation of the Women Affairs Secretariat was hinted at earlier this month when FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Minister of State Mariya Mahmood visited the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu.
This development underscores the commitment to address women’s and children’s issues in the FCT and marks a significant step toward empowerment and well-being for these groups.
