National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested a 50-year-old businessman, Nwokolo Ifeanyi Anthony, who excreted 86 pellets of heroin weighing 1.330 kilograms.
Gatekeepers News reports that the NDLEA’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi in a statement on Sunday said the arrest took place on Sunday, 29th October at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA, Abuja where Nwokolo was intercepted during the outward clearance of Air France flight AF 878 to Amsterdam, Netherlands via Paris, France.
He was body scanned, and the result indicated the presence of illicit drugs in his system. Subsequently, he was kept under observation, and over several days, he excreted a total of 86 pellets of heroin.
“The result turned out to be positive for illicit drug ingestion. The suspect who travelled from Lagos to board the flight was subsequently kept under observation for some days during which he excreted a total of 86 pellets of heroin weighing 1.330kilograms,” he disclosed.
In another operation, NDLEA operatives in Ogun state recovered a Toyota Sienna bus containing 460 kilograms of a substance. Additionally, a total of 116.5 kilograms of cannabis sativa were seized in the Mushin area of Lagos.
These drugs were concealed in various ways, indicating the continuous efforts of the NDLEA to combat drug trafficking and abuse.
