Families of Major General, Dr Abimbola Olatilewa Amusu (rtd) mni, has raised concern about the mistaken identity and use of the wrong photograph in the report of the death of Major General Aderonke Kale (rtd) mni.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Maj. Gen Kale, the first female Major General in the Nigerian Army died today, Friday.
Barr Tosin Oke, in a statement signed on behalf of Maj. Gen. Amusu’s family noted that she (Amusu) is still alive, hale and hearty.
The statement read, “For the avoidance of doubt below are photographs of Major General, Doctor (Mrs) Abimbola Olatilewa Amusu (rtd) mni, who is still alive, hale and hearty and that of the late Major General Aderonke Kale (rtd) mni duly captioned for correction by the concerned media.




“Media houses are please requested to correct this mistake by using the appropriate photograph of the late highly revered and iconic Major General Aderonke Kale (rtd) mni. May her gentle soul rest in peace, Amen.
“Major General Amusu (rtd) mni would like to seize this opportunity to thank family, friends, well wishers and well-meaning persons for the show of love and concern over the wrong use of her photograph by some media outlets.”
