NSA Nuhu Ribadu Assures Voters Of Peaceful Elections – Warns Against Violence

The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has assured residents of Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo states on security preparedness for the upcoming off-cycle elections scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday).

Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement signed by the Head, Strategic Communication of Office of the NSA, Zakari U. Mijinyawa, NSA Ribadu sternly warns political actors against engaging in any form of violence and urges security agencies to uphold professional standards throughout the conduct of the elections.

In alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directives, the NSA confirms that security agencies have meticulously prepared to ensure a safe, secure, and transparent electoral process on Saturday, 11 November 2023.

As the Co-Chair of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security, the NSA charges all security, intelligence, and law enforcement officers deployed for election security duties to maintain a high level of professionalism.

Highlighting the Federal Government’s commitment, NSA Ribadu mentions the mobilization of all necessary resources for the smooth conduct of the elections.

He calls on election managers to strictly adhere to the President’s instructions and emphasizes the establishment of a monitoring system with field monitors tasked to collect evidence of violence and irregularities.

The NSA firmly declares that severe consequences await anyone found responsible for disrupting the elections or abusing their authority.

Encouraging voters in the three states, Ribadu assures them of adequate protection and urges them to exercise their franchise by turning out in large numbers.
