One out of the five abducted students of Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina state, Northern Nigeria has regained freedom.
Gatekeepers News reports that the female student was released by the abductors and taken to Kuncin Kalgo in Tsafe LGA of Zamfara, from where she was brought to Katsina, where she is currently receiving medical attention.
The Police Spokesperson in Katsina, Aliyu Abubakar-Sadiq who confirmed the release of the student to TheCable on Tuesday, said he was not aware if any ransom was paid for freedom.
Abubakar-Sadiq said, “The student regained her freedom yesterday. She is currently receiving treatment at the hospital and afterwards, be debriefed by the police to get more information.”
The students were abducted on October 4 after some gunmen invaded their residence behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial School.
Meanwhile, the police spokesperson had said one person was arrested for allegedly disclosing information to the gunmen.
