Professor Shoots 3 Dead On Campus After Job Application At The University Was Rejected

A Professor who had unsuccessfully sought a job at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, stormed the school on Wednesday with a gun, killing three people and critically wounding a fourth before dying in a shootout with Police.

Gatekeepers News reports that the 67-year-old suspect, identified as Anthony Polito, previously worked at East Carolina University in North Carolina, according to the official who spoke with The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to release the information publicly.

“We are responding to preliminary reports of an #ActiveShooter on the campus of UNLV near Beam Hall,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department wrote on social media around midday local time (2000 GMT).

“There appear to be multiple victims at this time. Please avoid the area.”

Around half an hour later the department said: “The suspect has been located and is deceased.”
