Edo Civil Society Honours Ernest Umakhihe On World Human Rights Day

In commemoration of World Human Rights Day, the Edo State Civil Society organisation has presented an award to the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Ernest Umakhihe.

Gatekeepers News reports that Umakhihe was honoured for his contribution to Agriculture, and Food Security in Nigeria, and Edo State in particular.

The Civil Society while presenting the award recognised him for his “selfless service to the nation in agricultural developments, particularly your concern and support for local farmers.”

In his remarks after receiving the award, Umakhihe said, “I feel fulfilled, I feel re-dedicated… I feel elated by this award.

“It’s a recognition I value is much.”

Similarly, the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, Edo State Chapter, decorated Umakhihe with a Great Achievers award and a Lifetime award.

The award was in recognition of his exceptional commitment to fight against hunger in Nigeria.
