A viral video circulating online has shown Ekere Ebong, a lawyer in Akwa Ibom state, brutally assaulting his wife.
Gatekeepers News reports that the disturbing five-minute video captures the woman lying on the ground, bleeding from her mouth and begging her husband to stop at their residence in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state.
The Neighbours intervened to rescue the woman, and there are claims that this has been a recurring issue for several years.
After the neighbours rescued the woman, the man locked the gate and asked them to accommodate her.
The footage has prompted widespread condemnation and calls for the arrest of the lawyer involved in the case of domestic violence.
