Ogun State Police Command has clarified that Nollywood actor and director, Azeez Ijaduade, was accidentally shot by a police officer during an end-of-year party in Iperu Remo.
Gatekeepers News reports that contrary to initial reports, the police Spokesperson, Omolola Odutola revealed on Sunday, that the officer attached to Bramajaj Company Limited mistakenly discharged a shot during the company’s end of the year party, hitting the actor’s neck.
The news of Ijaduade being shot by a trigger-happy policeman was disclosed by his colleague, Abiodun Adebanjo, via his Instagram handle, @iamabiodunadebanjo, on Sunday.
The actor wrote, “Please we need help in Iperu. My director, Azeez Ijaduade, @kingzeez1, was shot by Nigerian police personnel.
“He is presently at Babcock University Teaching Hospital.
“Anybody with the contacts of the Police IG or Commissioner should reach out.”
Ijaduade, currently responding to treatment at Babcock University Teaching Hospital. Odutola further revealed that Ijaduade is in stable condition.
The incident occurred while the actor and his crew were involved in a movie shoot at the hotel where the end-of-year party took place.
