PDP Releases Timetable for Bye-Elections – Sets Senate Form At N3.5m

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has unveiled the timetable and activities schedule for the February 3, 2024 bye-elections.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission approved the timetable for elections resulting from resignations or demises in the National and State Houses of Assembly.

The timetable was signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, and released on Tuesday.

The PDP timetable includes the notice of primary election and congresses to state chapter starting on December 27, 2023, with the sale of nominations and forms from December 28, 2023, to January 3, 2024.

The primary election is slated for Monday, January 8, 2024, and appeals on the party primary are scheduled to be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

The Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly forms are priced at N3.5 million, N2.5 million, and N600,000, respectively. Special discounts apply for female aspirants, persons with disabilities, and youth below 40 years.

The statement read, “Please note that female aspirants and persons living with disabilities are to pay for nomination forms only.

“Youths (male/female) below 40 years are to purchase Expression of Interest forms, but with a 50% discount on nomination forms.

“Please, contact the Directorate of Organisation and Mobilisation at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja for further details on how to purchase the forms.”
