The late Ghali Umar Na’abba, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has been laid to rest in Kano amidst massive crowd after succumbing to a brief illness in Abuja earlier on Wednesday.
Gatekeepers News reports that the burial ceremony took place at the Emir of Kano’s Palace at approximately 5:30 pm.

Prominent figures who attended the funeral prayer session include Vice President Kashim Shettima, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Senator Kawu Sumaila representing Kano South, former Governors Sule Lamido and Ibrahim Shekarau, and Presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). The ceremony attracted political, religious, and traditional leaders from across the country.
Led by Kano State Chief Imam, Prof Sani Zahraddeen, the prayer session bid farewell to the 65-year-old Na’abba.
Survived by one wife and nine children, the late former Speaker found his final resting place at the Dandolo Cemetery in Kano metropolis.
