Police in Imo State have confirmed the death of at least eight members of a family in an auto crash that occurred at the Amanwozuzu junction, Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Ikeduru LGA, Lucky Ahiole, confirmed the incident to reporters in Owerri, on Friday.
According to the DPO, the accident which occurred at about 3.00 pm on Friday, led to the death of all the eight persons who were conveyed in a Sienna car.
He said the Sienna vehicle collided with a stationary truck carrying rods, resulting in the death of the victims.
“Eight died and we have taken them to a morgue.
“We had to break the Sienna vehicle to bring out the dead bodies,” he said.
