Subsidy Removal: NNPC Denies Clashing With Marketers

Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has dismissed reports that it clashed with oil marketers over petrol subsidy removal.

Gatekeepers News reports that a section of the Media (Gatekeepers News not included) alleged on Wednesday morning that the national oil company clashed with oil marketers over whether the Federal Government was paying subsidy on petrol or otherwise.

NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, in a terse statement, denied having such a fallout with oil marketers.

“The publication sought confirmation on alleged subsidy reduction, to which NNPC responded that subsidy has been entirely removed,” he said.
