Police Arrest 8 Suspects Over Plateau Killings

Eight suspects have been arrested by the Police over the recent killings in communities in Bakkos, Barkin-Ladi and Mangu Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

Gatekeepers News reports that some armed men had killed many residents and razed houses during the attacks on 17 communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGAs of Plateau State. The attacks were carried out on December 23 and snowballed to 24 while residents were preparing for the Christmas celebration.

The Police Spokesperson in the State, Alfred Alabo confirmed that the eight suspects were arrested following a tip-off by members of the affected communities.

He stated that the eight suspects are at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) undergoing interrogation.

The police spokesperson said: “Some people have been arrested and they are in custody undergoing interrogation.

“As of the last count, they were eight in number. But at the moment, the affected communities and villages are relatively calm and our men are on ground to ensure that the peace that has been restored is maintained.”
