Shaykh Abdul-Afis Aṣamu Abou, the Baba Adinni of Lagos and chairman of the Executive Council of Lagos Central Mosque, is dead. He aged 101.
Gatekeepers News reports that Shaykh Abou breathed his last on Tuesday night and his Janazah (burial) is scheduled for Wednesday, January 10, at 2 pm at the Lagos Central Mosque.
Shaykh Abou played a key role in reclaiming the land of the mosque at Dodan Barracks.
Condolences have been pouring in following his death, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praising his legacy of service, duty, and sacrifice. Senator Idiat Adebule also described him as a thoroughbred scholar and an embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and good character.
