JUST IN: Supreme Court To Hear Tonye-Cole’s Case Against Fubara

The Supreme Court in Abuja will today, Monday, January 15, hear the appeal filed by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, Patrick Tonye-Cole, against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Gatekeepers News reports that Tonye-Cole had filed an appeal against Fubara that he did not resign as Accountant General of the state within the deadline stipulated by the constitution and the Electoral Act.

Hence, Tonye-Cole is insisting that Fubara was not qualified to contest the election, let alone be declared winner of the election by INEC.

This, among other pleas of the APC candidate, is what the apex court will consider later today.
