Gatekeepers News reports that the inspection followed the viral video of safety concerns at the Lekki Conservation Center (LCC)
A netizen, Chude Nnamdi, had lamented the bad state of the canopy walk bridge at the Lekki Conservation Centre in viral video.
Nnamdi further warned visitors to beware of the damaged parts of the bridge.
The Director General, Lagos Safety Commission, Lanre Mojola and Special Adviser, Tourism Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe visited the Center today, Tuesday.
The DG, Nigeria Conservation Foundation (NCF), Dr Joseph Onoja was on ground to receive them.
At the visit, the government official found out that, “The viral video was recorded in December and the issues raised were promptly fixed.
“The LCC has been closed for extensive maintenance since 16th January 2024.”
The Lagos Safety Commission and Lagos Ministry of Tourism, therefore, noted that they will continue to monitor the situation for the safety of everyone.
On his part, the DG, NCF, Dr Onoja assured the State government of the Center’s full cooperation for safety of Lagosians towards the end of the scheduled maintenance.
