Gatekeepers News reports that the Commissioner of Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya in a series of posts via her X handle on Tuesday, said this was under the Produce-4-Lagos initiative.
Olusanya said, “As a market-city State, Lagos is consumer-centric and requires large quantities of food to cater to its population’s needs.
“Looking inward first, @lagosagric01 (the State’s Ministry of Health) is supporting local Lagos farmers to boost food production particularly in livestock, fisheries and horticulture.”
She noted that this was in alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s food security agenda.
The Commissioner said, “In large commercial quantities, Niger and Kwara, as part of the broader picture of attaining Mr. President’s food security agenda, have the competitive and comparative production edge in fulfilling the Lagos demand.”
