Ningi Resigns As Chairman Of Northern Senators Forum

Senator representing Bauchi central, Abdul Ningi, has resigned as chairman of the Northern Senators Forum (NSF).

Gatekeepers News reports that Ningi’s resignation follows his three months suspension by the senate over the claim that the 2024 budget was padded by N3 trillion.

NAN reports that the lawmaker announced his resignation in a letter dated March 11, 2024, addressed to the secretary of NSF.

The letter read, “I will like to resign my position as Chairman Northern Senators Forum.

“This is of course necessitated by the unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North and the nation at large.

“I will like to especially thank members of the forum for the opportunity given to me for the last eight months to spearhead this very important forum.

“I believe this forum is very important and fundamental to the progress and development of Northern Nigeria.”
